The short answer
Prepare a workable arrival, contact plan and backup suited to your group. Solo travellers need a way to recover when one phone or account fails; families need confirmed room, transport and child arrangements. No destination or route can be guaranteed safe by a checklist.
For a solo traveller
- Share the intended route and a reasonable check-in arrangement with someone you choose. Keep a readable host address and a second way to contact them.
- Confirm late arrival and the exact lawful pickup point. Keep a plan if the first connection or payment account fails; do not rely on a stranger’s unsolicited offer.
- Review your own government’s travel advice, current local warnings and cultural/legal rules before the trip. British guidance is linked as one source, not a nationality-neutral consular service.

For a family with children
- Check each child’s travel-document and entry requirements with the relevant authorities and carrier. If one parent or another adult travels, ask about any required consent documents for the actual route.
- Confirm exact bed arrangements, stairs/lift, accessible bathroom, drop-off and any child restraint with the provider; do not assume an app’s family label establishes them.
- Read current rail child-ticket rules for the specific booking. The official English FAQ includes old passages; do not rely on an old height-only summary.
- Reduce accommodation moves and keep time for meals, rest and toilets. These are editorial planning choices, not a prediction about a particular child.

Access and health are separate checks
Describe the actual access requirement to your stay, station and activity provider. For health, medications or altitude concerns, use a qualified clinician and official travel-health advice for your own situation. This website does not decide fitness to travel, prescribe treatment or certify a route as accessible.
If something changes
Remove the optional activity or move first, contact the actual provider through its known channel and update the contact plan. In an urgent situation use the relevant local emergency service, not a planning website’s correction form.

Common questions
Is China safe for a solo traveller or a child?
There is no honest universal guarantee. Evaluate your exact places and activities, current official advice and practical arrangements; the helper supplies preparation questions.
Can the tool certify wheelchair access?
No. Confirm the exact room, entrance, transport and activity route with providers. An unresolved essential access need remains pending.
