China arrival card: understand the fields and use the free official service

A preparation walkthrough for your flight, purpose and stay details, with a safe practice example and port alternatives.

The short answer

The NIA online arrival-card service is free. Use our independent helper to understand and check travel details, then enter identity information directly in the official system. Completing a practice here neither submits a card nor grants entry.

Prepare these documents beside you

  • Your travel document, arrival transport confirmation, first-stay booking and address, intended departure details and any entry permission relevant to your route. Read the official prompts for exemptions or extra requirements.
  • Keep the stay name, city/district and complete Chinese address together. An English hotel marketing name is not a substitute for its actual location.

Work through the helper

  • Read identity-field explanations without entering a real passport number or uploading a scan. Official spelling and document details must come from the document itself.
  • Practice with a clearly fictional flight and accommodation example, then review which non-sensitive travel details you still need to confirm.
  • Distinguish arrival transport from departure transport, travel purpose from visa category, and intended address from the port of entry. The official live field labels control formal submission.

Before official submission

  • Check dates against the carrier confirmation, the transport number against the arriving service, and the stay address with the provider. Do not guess a different address to satisfy a field.
  • Follow the official confirmation step and retain the result the official service gives you. Our local preparation record is not that confirmation.

Official submission is free. Port devices and paper cards remain alternatives.

If the website or connection fails

NIA states that port smart devices and paper arrival cards remain available. Keep your first address and transport information offline, and follow border staff instructions on arrival. Do not pay an imitation website to solve a connection problem.

Common questions

Do I have to buy a paid arrival-card service?

The official NIA service is free. Check the domain through the linked NIA notice; this site is a planning helper and does not charge or file a card for you.

What if a field differs from this example?

Follow the official live form and ask staff about uncertainty. This guide explains preparation, not a fixed replica of a government system.
