The short answer
In mainland China, police is 110, fire is 119 and ambulance is 120. Keep the Chinese location and a voice-call fallback: a data-only plan may not provide calls. Prepare insurer and consular details before departure; this website is not an emergency service or an insurance adviser.
Make a small emergency card
- Write the three numbers and your current stay’s complete Chinese address. Update the location when you change accommodation.
- Keep the insurer’s actual assistance number, policy reference and instructions in a private place. Save your own country’s relevant consular contact from its official website.
- Agree who can help call if your plan is data-only or you cannot communicate the location. Do not assume English answering or app messaging is available on an emergency line.

Ambulance 120, fire 119, police 110. Consular assistance depends on nationality; English answering is not guaranteed.
Questions to ask the insurer
- Does the policy cover all destinations, actual dates and planned activities, including any altitude, hiking or transport activity relevant to you?
- What are the exclusions, excess, pre-existing-condition disclosure rules and assistance/claim steps? Ask the insurer or a qualified adviser for your specific circumstances.
- What documents should you preserve after an incident, and must you contact assistance before arranging care or transport? Follow urgent-service instructions when immediate help is needed.

Insurance should fit the itinerary and activities. No personalised health assessment or insurance product recommendation.
If a phone or document is lost
Use your separate backup to contact the relevant provider, bank, insurer and nationality-appropriate consular service. Report a stolen/lost passport through the required local and consular process. Do not place a full passport copy, bank password or recovery code in a public or shareable travel note.

Keep the tool in its proper role
The safety helper prepares checks and an offline text card. It cannot call for you, assess symptoms, diagnose, guarantee a hospital’s services or decide insurance suitability. For an active emergency, contact the relevant service immediately rather than waiting for a website response.
Common questions
Can a data-only eSIM call 120?
Do not assume it can. Check voice capability with your carrier and prepare a separate calling or local-help option; app data access is a different capability.
Does checking insurance here mean I am covered?
No. Coverage is determined by the actual policy and insurer. Save the checks as preparation, not a coverage confirmation.
