The short answer
For a city stay, compare a base near the activities you want, including the Green Lake area. For a short connection, start with the exact airport or railway station and your arrival/departure times. Kunming Railway Station and Kunming South are different places; a generic station-area recommendation cannot cover both.
Two different purposes
- City time: Green Lake and surrounding cultural sites are a useful planning focus. Check each venue’s current opening and the property’s real position before assuming walkability.
- Station connection: select the full Chinese station on the issued ticket. A Kunming Station-area stay is not a Kunming South-area stay.
- Airport arrival: calculate the door-to-door journey and check the host’s late-arrival procedure. Do not base a tight onward train on an unverified historic transfer time.

Before confirming a property
Ask the host for the Chinese address and entrance, registration process, room arrangement, noise and who will answer if your arrival changes. A convenient area does not establish a convenient room or a confirmed pickup.

Can I fit Green Lake into every connection?
